WTB stock cat converter
As the title says looking for a stock cat converter (can be fried) to mess around with. So for anyone who has removed theirs to put on a cat bypass or a header back exhaust this is your chance to get that worthless hunk of metal out of your garage

I gutted the stock cat converter this weekend and wanted a fresh one just incase it had to be reinstalled. It makes the exhaust sound better and occasionally makes some popping (backfiring) when lifting the throttle.
It was an absolute biatch to gut the cat though... too the better part of about 4hrs to drill enough holes, bang on a foot and a half long chisel, drill more holes etc etc etc... Now i know why people pay 100 bucks for a test pipe.

nope, in under the hood there is a method (4 bucks at autozone) where you use a "spark plug antifouler" that you screw the 02 sensor into before you put it back into the test pipe. I have yet to throw a CEL.. Many people have been using this method with success

I have always wanted to try running a test pipe, but the results are suspect. No one can seem to agree if there are any gains. From your response I am guessing that the gains/losses are minimal at best.
