Hey guys,

Looks like I need a starter as my solenoid must've broke when the motor locked up and I tried restarting it. It won't engage into the flywheel at all. If anyone has one for a decent price let me know. Thanks!

Success. Back from Chattanooga with a new starter. I should have some good news later tonight.

Same $%^# thing is happening with the new starter....after about an hour on the phone with Brad we couldn't figure out what the gremlin is. So now that I have my original starter off the car, I'm going to have it bench tested and if it tests out properly, then something else is causing it to not engage. It could POSSIBLY be the battery, but it was reading 12.36 volts, and it's only a year old. Granted it's been sitting for 3 months. Tomorrow I'll have the starter bench tested and I'm going to try jumping my car with another if my starter checks out okay cause then I know it's something other than the starter. The whole situation is just frustrating and annoying..... I just hope the new one I got isn't defective and I have to drive all the way to Chattanooga again to return it....lol. If it's good and my original one is good, then so be it, I have a spare starter, lol.

That sucks. Have the battery tested as well?

Battery was new as of a year ago. Only thing we can think of is grounding issues. Scott is planning on coming over tomorrow and I'm going to buy a spool of oxygen free wire to replace some of the grounds/add a couple extra maybe and hopefully that will solve it. If my starter bench tests properly, then I can pretty much say it's a ground issue or battery issue. Most likely ground.

Just saying, if you are testing the starter, may as well test the battery if they can too
