Remeber you can't see the cracks with them installed. They crack on the under side. You can see, at least on mine, the valve tip sitting lower in the retainer.

X2 on well worth the trip and it's done right. You get tech tips too!

I should probably check mine, being a used car and all.

Plus I'd like to have the valve lash set. I'll add it to the list.

Yeah when I checked them before, I didn't see any lower valves, so I assumed all was but I'm thinking I should just change them to be safe. Plus with 147K might be a good idea anyway.

yeah, I'm fairly certain this is what's wrong with the engine in my blue car right now.

but peter, I feel your pain. that's what happened to me a couple years back.
