Personally, I'm just annoyed to all hell that the US "Big 3" (are they really that big anymore??) get a $25B bailout too. OK. Bailed out for making garbage? Where's the capitalism in that? In essence punishing the companies that are doing well, there's no point in innovation or a true competitive market.

they don't care about innovation or a truly competitive market. if lack of innovation and selling shit products makes them $, that's what they want.

take, for instance, alternative energies. the technology is here now (and has been for decades depending on the means) to utilize and drop the use of petroleum as far as transportation is concerned or coal for electricity. the big oil companies know this, which is why these means are not out in the open yet. once they're done making $$$ off of petroleum, they'll be the names all over hydrogen/electric cars and research.

agree on everything you said except...we could all vote for Obama, and the electoral college could still choose McCain...they are not required to vote the way the populous votes, and that is total BS

yep - I really find it hard to believe - this goes to ALL car companies though - how they can crank out a new model top to bottom every couple of years, but when it comes to stuff like airbags or a car that doesn't run on gasoline it's WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WE CAN'T DO THAT - GIVE US LIKE UM 10 YEARS yeah that's the ticket 10 YEARS TO IMPLEMENT THAT IN OUR CARS!

in the 70's, there was a guy in california that made a dune buggy that ran solely on hydrogen from fuel cells. he was going to drive it to DC to prove his point, about 300 miles into his journey, he was shot.

There's a guy now who developed a torch that burns water as fuel as a cutting torch. he uses an electrolysis process that rearranges water from HOH to HHO. He has recently applied this to his car to have an alternative fuel. currently, it's running as a hybrid with petro and water, but he has had it set up to run solely on water. he recently patented it. let's see how long this guy lasts...

I read or heard somewhere that if you want to see the latest thing in car innovation just look to mercedes benz, every innovation they make trickles down to the other car companies, they don't even patent their saftey innovations.
