while i have very little faith in either party im voting for Obama. A huge voting issue with me is foreign policy (aside from just the wars). W has done such a great job degrading the rest of the world's opinions of us (which wasnt awesome to start with) I dont think McCain will be able to repair it in anyway.

True his voting record is just as crooked as the next but we have more values in common. I agree though that the media is crap and it has gotten significantly worse since the 24 hour news channels. MSNBC and Fox News IMNSHO are largely to blame for the muddying of the political waters. Unfortunatly, as long as X% of our population keeps watching that trash its not going to change.

I also find it mildly (read: very) disturbing that more people vote for American Idol PER WEEK than the total for the Presidential Election. It's a sad time...

And as far as who to vote for, the war is obviously a HUGE factor, and especially to me since Ive known 2 people who have lost their lives in it. That just hits so close to home words cant even describe it. I dont know all the facts but from the media and first hand accounts that IVE heard, it's time to come home and Obama supports that (albeit slowly, which I do think is the best option) whereas McCain does not. As a whole, its too close to call who I agree with the most, but for that one issue, Obama gets the nod from me, unfortunately.

its not even just Obama and the Dems calling for withdrawl. The Iraqi goverment has been calling for a timetable for over a month now......and how many times did we hear Bush and McCain say....we will stand down when they stand up.

Anyway, Im really going to try hard to not turn this into a bashing session but im ready for a change. Even if its still the politics we have known atleast a change of perspective and opinions will be a breath of fresh air for me.

I dont hate Bush as much as some people, and I think this current term really tested him as President as it would have anyone. However, we do need a change, there is no dismissing that fact.

If Mitt Romney decides to be the vice-presidential running mate, then I'm voting for McCain.

That aside, I wish Colin Powell would have ran ...

EDIT: In regards to President Bush, at least his approval rating is higher than the 'democratic' congress that promised 'change'.

Ps-congress can only do so much. It is only one branch. But it is abysmal.

That being said, I was hoping Clinton would win the nomination, but on dice. That being said, I'm voting for Obama. Last week when he was doing something to beef up his foreign policy knowledge to become a better potential President McCain was pissing and moaning about how inexperienced he is. Give me a guy who will admit their weak points and work on 'em, not a whiny 80 year old war hungry man.

Disclaimer: I am not a democrat and I voted for Bush in the last election. Like Kyle, I'm just ready for change.
