$1257 Is your car made of gold or something? the repair costs should be no more than $600.

It was SNOWING the past two days. I got hit right after it snowed the night before. Cut me some slack.

I guess the reason its slightly pricey is the nick on the rim? Who knows though.

All that needs to be done is replace your rear bumper and whatever wheel got nicked. That's 800.00 TOPS in repairs, but realistically should be around 500.00

Someone's trying to bend you over. Let us know which shop it is so we can stay the hell away from them.
Amazing that the kid owned up to it. Bet he chokes when you tell him the first quote.

Well I called him and told him the quote via voicemail. However I've heard from a few of my friends that his parents may want me to take my car to a shop "they know" to get an estimate there.

I'm kind of wary of that seeing as how they could skew the estimate in their favor. I have no connections to anyone around here and I took it to a neutral shop where I did not know the guy. (Collision masters) and got a quote there for $1,283.91.

What should I do?

id let their shop get a quote and see how it compares. If their work is satisfactory to you and an agreement can be made between the two quotes cool. If not id seriously be weighing some other options.....

But I'm not sure if I'm going to get the car fixed immediately or by a shop. I might buy all the supplies and do it myself.
