im sick of looking for a project car i gave up.

im not really into paying 8k for a piece of poop.

looked at an s2k, that was wrecked, and had NOTHING.

IE - no engine, tranny, interior only 3 rims and he wants 3k for it...

I mean really?

what do you want out of the project car? performance or style.

for me i'm more performance oriented on the S but, when i pick up a golf its going to be strictly style... shaved bay, draggin' frame rails, cream paintjob, rootbeer interior. extremely rare 3 pc rims... ugh... been thinking about it to much..

I'm wanting performance, but I want to custom the interior and paint.

I've been looking into wrecked c5 z06s and such but even wrecked its crazy.

Might as well buy a nice one and start there.

Wouldnt mind a c5 z06 with alot miles to be honest.

a low mileage, unmolested c5z will set you back for 24k at the most (private seller). i know its en vogue for people to tell you the base c6 is better than the c5z stock for stock (which it is but, not by much) but the price difference is still in the c5z's favor. not to mention it seriously is not hard to get power out of them...

a base vortech kit a baby cam, I/H/E and you're eating up bikes, and can still have all the creature comforts of a/c and a sub in the trunk..

yes you should of going to try to skip the vette step and go to the viper. gen IV's are going for 48-54k right now which are the 06 models

the 08+ are so much better but, still pulling in the 60-70 range. and i know a nice paxton s/c on the viper will net you a conservative 700 rwhp. which will make getting the 08 models kind of moot...

You can find high mileage 05 c6's for under 20 on very rare occations and right around the 22-25k mark on the norm, unless something has changed! I would still take the 405hp c5z over a base c6 any day, then I'd have to step up to the ls3 in the 08+!

I've been fapping to vipers for months now LOL.

I wouldnt mind an older viper to just start me off on one.

I dunno, I wont be debt free until october, trying to hold out until then to really decide on anything.

i am finally debt free right now, and have spent some good money on the s2k but, i'm not exactly happy with it... called my dad and pretty much gave me the "you'll be starting from square one" and "you're not even done with your car, why are you thinkin' about another" once i get the ASM stuff put on the car i'll pretty much be a big fish in a small pond as Houston s2k "scene" is concerned but, even then i still don't know if i'll be happy with the car.
