you can make them black... powder coating is fairly inexpensive for the finish you'll get.
OR, they make a spray plasti-dip that my friend just painted his wheels with. it makes a very smooth finish and is CHEAP. and if you don't like it, to the best of my knowledge, you can peel it off.
they'd look better with a refinish anyways. you could probably fix the majority of the minor curbage yourself.
