New S2000
Hello everyone,
I have decided (I think) to Lease a new 2006 S2000. I think I will get gray with red and black interior. I belive that in the end leasing then buying is cheaper than buying outright because of interest and tax I would have to pay. Plus I get a new S2000 exactly how I want it. Anyone think this is a good or bad idea? Any feedback is helpful.
Also on another note the insurance company told me that my 2001 S2000 is definately totalled. That is what I was hoping for.
See you guys soon!
Corey

I shudder at the thought of a lease, but I've never leased before and don't have any experience with it. Do you really want a new S2000? These cars depreciate down to the $25k range so fast, it just seems like a waste to pay $10,000 more for a new one.
I don't know you and don't know if you drive your S2000 hard like I do, but it seems like a bad idea to lease a car you're going to push hard.
Just my .5 cents (not even worth 2 since I've never leased or even bought a new car )

I typically shy away from a lease as well but - -
My residual value after 4 years is $16k - & I figures that a good low #.
also - (All Honda leases include free gap insurance)
If you have any questions about a Honda lease, feel free to PM me.
My monthly paymets are in the Mid $300's

If you plan on keeping this car, I say go for it. I personally would not lease my daily driven car. I absolutely abuse my car, and I drive it a lot. I hate to think about the hidden charges that would accrue when time comes to turn it in. Also, I would not want to constantly be thinking about the number of miles that I have left.
However, I have seriously considered leasing one to serve a dedicated track and autorcross car. (Yes, I seriously considered it) I would just trailer it to and from the track to limit the miles that I would rack up.

Hahah, seems backwards, but interesting...it's almost a loophole in the lease rules! I would love to see a leasing manager at a dealership's face if he found out people were leasing cars to track them, lol.
Corey, is your S your daily driver? Just curious, if not leasing might be less of a big deal. I just put SO many miles on my car, I'm with Jason on this one. Hell, I put 13,000 miles on my S between when I got it at the end of May and the start of winter. And it's not even my daily, I put another 8,000 or so miles on the Civic last year!
