Just some informational things for this thread.
A. Welcome
B. VTEC not vtech, we won't flame here but out on the rest of the site they will flock like vultures at it. (Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control) is where the letters come from.
C. The 8k redline on the AP2 is not like driving an AP1 with 1k less rpm, AP1 and AP2 owners are shifting at identical times nearly due to different gearing within the transmission, so there is no argument for oh I would miss my 1k rpm. I've owned both, its not a big deal.
D. I can and will be a smartass

Thanks for the welcome. I sincerly apologize for the error in describing the engine. It is not my intent to embarass myself or the club.
