Default Lunch or Dinner Date Drives

Hey all,

Looking for suggestions for nice drives (from/to M'boro, preferably) for lunch or dinner dates with the wife. Fun roads would be nice, but good scenery probably trumps twisties. Good excuses for taking drives in the S.

What say you?

TIA,
Jon

C'mon, I'm sure some of you have some ideas.....

Where could we go from Murfreesboro for a nice day drive?
Maybe leave 9-10am and see some good sights, maybe enjoy some twisties, get a bite somewhere, and explore a different route back home in the mid- to late-afternoon??

TIA,
Jon

Theres some routes the corvette club takes that hits a few wineries.

I never did them, but they sounded fun. I'm sure some of these guys know them.

I think the thing is that there's only a couple people that live out that way. So most of us aren't really familiar enough with the area to give suggestions.

How about this?

Murfreesboro is a quick drive from Nashville, particularly south and southeast. What if you wanted to go from Nashville?

Thx,
Jon

The first one is fall creek falls. It would be a great day trip with some hiking with twisties on the way.

The second is the Natchez trace, very scenic and twistie but it is federal and has a strictly enforced speed limit. There are several good pic nic spots.

Also the leipers Fork area has a lot of twisties in the area.

Dinner date with a fun drive!

Well, I'll let you in on a secret route that I take and love as well as nice restaurant to make reservations at and eat.

Make reservations at High Point restaurant a day or so before. http://www.highpointrestaurant.net/5301.html
Open 5-9/10 weekdays/ends

I would plan on getting to High Point @ 5ish (should take you around 2.5 hours or so from the boro) so you can enjoy the whole route in the daylight.

You can also do it in the reverse order so you get the interstate on the way back if you stay late at High Point. Still a lovely drive and fun!

I second Fall Creek Falls. The drive to and from are good (once you are on the secondary roads) and it is nice cruising inside the park. You can spend all day in the park if you wanna swim/play in ccccold water or hike. Bring a lunch though cus the food there sucks.
