Default Looking for some tires

Hey guys,

Ive been doing a bit of research on tires and looking to find the best deal for the money.

I have Falken Ziex-912's on my Works, and Pirelli P-Zero Nero's on my stockies and have been quite impressed with both sets.

but this time im looking for something a little different.

I'm wanting to go with some kind of Summer tire instead of an all season and ive heard sumitomo and continental are good brands, but have also been looking at Falken as well.

I dont really want to go overboard with spending 200+ for each tire but would like to stay within a reasonable range of 100-200 bucks per.

The sizes that i will be looking for will be
225/40/18
245/35/18 or 255/35/18.

I would like to go with a 255 on the rear but worried that it may rub since im dropped and not rolled.

what kind of tires have you all had experience with and would you buy them again?
I need the goods, bads, and the ugly's.

Thanks in advance

Sumitomo HTRZ, HTRZ-II is what I ran on my 06 miata and with S I am now looking at the Sumitomo MS. (figured I would try these too)
The HTRZ are great for the dollar...quite and sticky. When they warm up they are fantastic, and very good in the rain. I can say the same for the HTRZ-II. Both tires definitely pass the dragon test., and passed many, many times w/o once an issue.

Im running 255/40/17 on the rear lowered 1.3" and no problems at all, I do have the UK Alignment though.

For cheap good performing tires look at:

1) Falken Azenis RT-615
2) Dunlup Direzza Z1 Star Spec
3) Sumitomo HTR Z-III
4) Kumho Ecsta MX

All are good tires, and I put them in order of overall dry performance. However, I do think that the Sumitomo and the Kumho would be better in the rain than the other two. So if you want balls-to-the-wall summer performance, get one of the first two. If you need a good Daily tire, get one of the bottom two, (I highly recommend choice #3)

hmm..

i do want great performance, but this is also my daily driven vehicle.

so i think the azenis will be rulled out of this one.lol

my buddy had those on his civic hatch and they were awesome tires in the dry, but when the rain came, they weren't up to par. I would hate to see them on the S in the rain.

Thanks for the Input, im going to check the Sumitomos out as we speak.

So ive narrowed it down to 3 different sets of tires that come in the sizes that I am looking for.

1) Continental ContiSport Contact3
2) Yokohama S.drives
3) Bf Goodrich T/A KDW 2

ive leaning more toward the BF's, hear anything good or bad about any of these?

i believe it may come in a 255/35 but im a little weary going with a 255.

im dropped and rubbing would worry me, esp with these perfectly paved Tn roads

KDw2 are decent tires had them on my Oz ultraleggeras when I purchased them, held up pretty good in the rain/dry and i know this doesn't matter but the tread design is agressive looking . Only draw back was not so good tire life, then again im a fairly spirited driver .
