If no air pump is present, how long does it take before the MIL lights up and stores a P-code? If it takes awhile, say more than 20min or something, you could always borrow a OBD-II computer from AutoZone, go to the smog place, clear the code, then toss the tech the keys.
That is, of course, if TN doesn't ever require a tailpipe sniffer!

TN has the sniffers but only use it for cars without the OBD connection. My S did not have a MIL or CEL but the ECU had the code P0410, I think that was the code. I thought about doing just what you said but then I just transfered tags from my yellow S and put it on the red one so I could drive it on the roads for a few months. I take my yellow one through MARTA in a few weeks when I put the wheels back on.
