Legality of mods in TN.
Hello, I just wanted to know what to look out for in TN as I don't want any fines. When I lived in VA it seemed that anything and everything was illegal (too low/too high, too dark of tent on windows, too loud, illegal headlight blubs, and the list could go on and on) I was thinking about having the headlights sent off to be cleared (with amber blub). Then I thought that might not go over in this state (not sure how VA would look at this either as I travel there often). Have any of you locals had problems with any modding to your car? Any idea on if clearing the headlights is illegal in TN? Thanks!

I claim little knowledge concerning the actual laws but I've never heard of any real problems with small mods like that. Been here long time.
The cops here are fairly reasonable and if you don't give them a good reason - they'll leave you alone. Loud pipes will cause you more grief than anything.

I have lived here most of my life and have never been hassled with anything I wanted to do with my vehicles. I was questioned (in somewhat passing) if my window tint was too dark so I said "no" and he said "OK".

I really don't think there are any laws concerning Vehicle mods. I think as long as it has a license plate on it you're good to go. I just moved back from VA now that I'm out of the Marines, and the laws there were rediculous.
