Help/ inherited a new S2K/ Southwest VA
#3
Hi, I don't think anything is wrong. It wouldn't start after sitting for 5-6 months. It was purring like a cougar in August and then parked. it probably needs a new battery. I will try that when the snow melts. I just know I will need help because I honestly don't know anything about this car. Just wanted to try to find someone locally that I could talk to. Thank you

I can guarantee the battery is stone dead unless you disconnected it or put it on a trickle charger in August when you parked it. Dead to the point it probably won't revive. No different than any other car. Parasitic discharges from innocent things like the radio memory and keyless entry will suck a battery dry in a matter of weeks. Lots of help here but the battery is the place to start. You'll need the radio code for it to work once you get power.
Some battery chargers won't even try to charge a battery drained completely -- but it won't hurt to try. I'd budget the money for a new battery.

Hopefully the former owner kept the card with the radio code with the owner's manual. It's an anti-theft code that needs to be used whenever power to the radio is severed -- like when changing a battery or the battery completely dies -- or the radio is stolen. The radio should lightup with C-O-D-E in the display. Someone will recall the link to how to get it if you don't have the code card or it's not written in the owner's manual. Check the secret compartment between the seats, mine was there.
