Default Emissions questions

You all are familar with the davidson county emissions. Im looking at buying a turbo s2000 and wondering if this will cause problems with the test. Im looking at buying a car from out of state and bringing it in TN. Its from VA so Im not sure what their testing is like. Can you guys give me some info on what I need to know before I buy it and have a ton of problems. Thanks

As long as it is OBD2 readable and has no check engine light you should be alright. Some members........have it registered out of state to avoid this.

lol, I just lived there for many many years.

I'm not too sure how strict they are here in regaurds to turbo's ect. As long as you dont have codes you should be ok.

What kind of engine management does it have?

That's true, if it has AEM EMS you can't pass, ask tanner. Some guys will temporarily un-turbo it and run a factory computer just to pass emissions, but that's a lot of work to do every year as required here.

This is such bad news. I had everything set up at the bank. Not sure if there are any options around this or not.

Know of anyone in an emissions free state that you can register it there and just renew online every year?

If I were to register it out of county how does that work? dont you have to show you live there with utility bills?
