I know you have the Chase hitch Matt, do you think this design is any better since it doesn't have the the Heim joints? Worth attempting to do on your own?

 

I saw that today as well, and while it may be marginally stronger, there are tons of people out there with zero reliability issues stemming from the Chase Race. I absolutely love the Chase Race.

Not really. I love the Chase Race because when you take out the pins, you cannot see ANYTHING of the hitch. There are 3 mounting plates that are in the rear bumper support and the rear sway bar mounting point. With the hitch in, you just put in 3 pins with safety clips and youre on your way.
