CO for a day

CO for a day
Matt and Kyle seem to be very busy guys lately, and I think it is time for the group to give them a hand. Let them take a step back for a bit and focus on a few personal items (wedding planning, job searching, etc) while the group takes over and plans a few things they would like to do.
So have at it. This is the input thread. What do you guys prefer to do? Group drives, Detail day, Mod day, just hang out, or do we simply claim ourselves as an Internet chat group and nothing more?
If you were the CO of the group, what would you set-up for everyone?
Does someone want to help out and take over planning a new Eskimo Run date? or should it simply be killed?
Anyone have a large heated barn or a space to set up a detail day?
Any new ideas are welcome.
Matt, Kyle, if I am out of line, feel free to remove this thread and ban the non S2k guy.

not out of line at all as this is something ive thought about lately myself.
On a side note everyone deserves an explination of my inactivity as of late. i let matt know yesterday... but part of my inactivity has been due to my health. Progress has been made but im still prohibited by it.
In short, its not fair to you guys that Matt and I have been so distracted. Chris this is a great idea. If anyone is interested in stepping up I know I would be happy for the help.

Kyle I hope whatever is causing you trouble is over with soon and you're feeling better!
I'm very new here, I haven't met anyone but Calvin (hobbs) in person and that was only for a couple of minutes when he delivered a swaybar to me at school (thanks so much for that dude, I'm sorry you had to come all the way here!). So I would be a big fan of gorup drives/dinners and other assorted activities so I can meet everyone and get to know them. Its a little tough right now with the cold weather and all too, but it should be starting to warm up in the next month or so

if I have time this semester to take charge of some meets or something, I'll take this as invite to do such.
I'll be getting a dragon run together once I get my new toy and when it warms up a little bit, so that'll be a start.
There's also the weekly meet that I put on every friday night if you want to rep s2ki there.

I'll definitely keep my wheels turning on ideas and present/carry them out if possible.
I know we're starting to get a decent amount of s2kers to come out to meets in nashville, so if we want to all caravan to nashville on saturday afternoon and hit up a MC member's restaurant where weekly meets are also held, I think that'd be a pretty feasible thing.

I think that would be a good idea (weekly meet). Or atleast start out as weekly just to hang out and grab a bite to eat. You know just post something up each week saying we will be here or there from this time to that time. Seen other people doing it in other forums and thought that would be cool if we had that around here. Its just a suggestion. I wouldnt say im the best at planning something, im more of the lets just do it and see what happens.

I think it would be better to start off doing a monthly meeting instead of weekly. Right now we aren't meeting at all, and I think jumping into a weekly meeting would be tough for some peoples schedules and normal routines - it would be easier to start out w/ a monthly meeting so everyone would have time to prepare.
We also need someone to be more active about posting local events going on, such as auto-x events, HPDE events, and maybe even the local dragstrip schedule.
I realize the major group of us are in Knoxville, but we need to make this a true Smokey Mtn. region group ...plan things in both Knoxville as well as the Tri-Cities.
Just my opionion ...I just don't want to see our sub-forum fail.

All great ideas, and I agree with Chris that we need to start with a monthly meet as opposed to weekly. We used to do a dinner bi-weekly out in west Knoxville and averaged 4-6 people Id say. That hasn't happened in a long time unfortunately, so I cant foresee a weekly meet taking off.

I would love some activities in the Tri Cities area (any of them are at least 1.5 hours closer to me than Knoxville). Once it starts to get warm and my car is back together (hopefully next weekend), I'll have no problem making the drive to Knoxville though.
