Default AP1 owners!

im my search for rear tires (Bridgestone decided to discontinue the RE750) ive stumbled across someone selling 2...225/50/16s. 140 bucks shipped for both. i have always had 245s on the rear. being aware that the stock S02s have an abnormal footprint and a 245 is more comparable:

Anyone have any experience changing between the two? Thoughts? Hell of a deal....if nothing other then to get me through the winter

lol, don't do it man. We're already driving real twitchy cars as it is, I wouldnt do anything to make it worse.

its just winter driving though no dragon runs or anything....not to mention 225 RE750s would be better then the bald ones on there now or Fuzion ZRis brand new

Hell even the new RE760 only come in 225

Even still, I wouldn't risk it. Winter driving in Knoxville just means cold with rain on some days. Snow tires are good to run in smaller sizes so they can cut through the snow easier but you dont need that down there. Don't risk driving in the adverse conditions with poorly spec'd tires. Granted you're right that a new 225 might be better than a more bald 245 but Id hold out for some ap2's or a tire that you could get in a 245.

I had 225s all around (with just decent tires) temporarily when I first got my car and all I can say is don't.
Matt's right about driving twitchy cars as is, but it's worse w/ 225s in the rear, especially in the cold. I wouldn't do it unless they were grippier tires (and I'd still be pretty wary).

I might be able to find a way to get them up here coming back from nashville after the break if they strike your eye.
That way, you have a set of track wheels too!

Since I know you were looking at seats too. Looks like a VERY nice alternative!
