Default whats the best beach area max 2 hours from Tampa

We would like to rent a beach house but not sure yet where to rent.

Captiva? Ft Myers? Anna Maria Island? St.Pete? Clearwater?

Open to any good suggestions

<3 Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island, but a lot of people are partial to St. Pete. Clearwater seems to be full of young ruffians causing trouble, at least in my head.

Anna Maria has tons of small beach house rentals. It still feels like Florida in the early days. Lots of great places to eat.

Oh and a few restaurant suggestions for Long Boat Key and or Anna Maria would be:

Chart House
Chart House LongBoat Key

The Colony
The Colony Longboat Key

In fact the Colony is a great place to stay as well.

Since we are 7 people, We actually rented a beach house on the west side of Anna Maria Island/Holmes Beach for mid April.

So we choosed the right location!

Sounds Great. I walk the beach every morning. Hopefully we can meet up. PM me details as you get closer to the time.

Good choice but if you ever get the chance Sanibel/Captiva island is a world of its own. Truely amazing wildlife and one of the top places in Fl to collect sea shells and since its a small island its really cool
