Talking Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum Meet

9/24/2009 UPDATE

I am trying to get a better idea who is actually attending this event and if you will be there for breakfast or just for the drive and or to tour the Museum.

If your name is on the list below just post up again if you are in for breakfast, group drive, & Museum. Check out my post on p 3 of the thread.

Also if you have 2 way radios I would suggest bringing them, it makes it easier for the leader to communicate with or within the group. Other items to bring:

1) Cash
2) Sunscreen
3) Hat
4) Windshield cleaner (damm love bugs)
5) Full Tank of Fuel
6) Check that oil!
7) Check those tire pressures.
8) Camera/Video camera
9) +1 of you are bringing one

If anyone wants to caravan to the Cracker Barrel I will be coming from PC going West on I-4 to I-75 N wanna hook up? Other meet up spots to be determined, just post away.

Looks like we are good for a reduced rate at the Museum. They're group rates are at 10+ people so that shouldnt be a concern.

The rates we will be getting is below:

Adults - $12
Seniors 60+ - $10
Students - $10
Children - $ 3
Kids under 5 - Free

Mark your calendars kids, Saturday September 26th we will visit the Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum in Ocala.

Don Garlits Museum

More details to follow but we will start with a meet up for breakfast followed by a group drive led by Scott (Zacksdad) thru the back roads on route to the museum.

9/21/2009 Update:

We will meet for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel at 8:00 AM

Cracker Barrel
I-75 , Exit# 301
I-75 & SR50
30405 Cracker Crossing
Brooksville, FL 34602-8504
Located off I-75
* Bus & RV Parking Available
(352) 799-3101

We should already be fuel'd up before we eat so that we can be on the open roads promptly by 9:00 AM. This would be at exit 301 and I-75, the Brooksville Exit (Highway 98), the SE Corner.

***NOTE, this is not to be mistaken as Highway 301 .......

Scott has laid out the route and it will take us through the familiar hills that he has taken a bunch of you folks on and then, work our way north on some new ones up toward the Museum. The goal is to arrive at the museum between 11:30AM & Noon.

For those who have not been on a drive led by Scott all I can say is don't miss it. Scott has a way of finding the most interesting roads in an area where you wouldn't think anything exist.

The cost for an adult is $15.00 so start saving your nickels & dimes. (I will be contacting the Museum to see if we can get a discount)

Again more detailed information will follow but post up if you are attending.
