The AP Kit is designed to be an ultra-high performance racing setup, typically for competition track use. The rotors actually weigh slightly MORE than our two piece SBG rotors, as they have a higher cooling vane count. They are fully floating to handle the extreme differences in temperature between the rotor and hat in heavy track use conditions, which prevent coning of the disc in relation to the hat and allow the rotor to expand radially. This only comes into play when the discs are loaded up with extreme heat, which is why we recommend them for heavy track enthusiasts or competition track use. For HPDE's the standard rotors are more than sufficient! The AP Calipers are also slightly lighter compared to the Wilwoods, but the real benefits are that they have anti-knockback springs in the pistons, protective cross over tubes, higher temp seals, and they're somewhat stiffer. That said the Wilwood kit was meant to be a budget-friendly little brother to the AP Competition kit... they're both quite good but if you're looking to eek out the fastest lap times and are very hard on your brakes, consider the AP setup. If not, our Wilwood Track-Day kit is a great bang for the buck, and does have the option for AP rotors should you want a hybrid kit.

From the picture iooks like the bracket is adapting 3.5" mount calipers rather than radial mount calipers. Is that correct?

Yes however our AP Competition brackets will allow the the radial mount calipers to be mounted (with a couple thin shims). We're working on this as an option, however it's currently not an official purchasable option first. We wanted to get the affordable kit out before confusing people with too many options for color, and piston size, and various caliper types. but yes we've got it planned and if you're interested shoot us an email. The radial mount calipers come in 6 pot but it's quite a bit more expensive.

The pre-order is over but we are offering free shipping on all brake products through the end of October. Use coupon code BRAKETOBERFEST2016 at checkout

Are you looking at the Superlights or the Aero6 with its big bridge? Either would give a 4-piston or 6-piston option.

We haven't tested this wheel personally but it should be very close. With a 3mm spacer you should be good.
