Arrow NEW: MiataSpeed / SakeBomb designed FPX Long-Stroke Coilovers!

For more details check out our parent company www.FPSpec.com which is the main engineering branch for SakeBomb Garage . We've got lots more to come, but for now, we'd like to introduce the fresh-off the press, S2000 FPX Long Stroke Line of Suspension!

SakeBomb Garage is proud to introduce our newest coilover offering: Our line of FPX Long-Stroke Coilovers - now designed for the S2000! The ultimate solution in customized suspension, specifically aimed at the S2000 enthusiast! A fantastic suspension option for those looking to maximize performance, ride quality, and price – our FPX Long-Stroke line of suspension offers great performance, hand built and custom valved suspension, with extra long shock travel, at a great value!

You may notice that many components are similar / shared between our popular FPSpec line of products which utilize Ohlins DFV Dampers. This is not a coincidence. The years of R&D that went into our FPSpec Long-Stroke suspension kits was used as a starting point for our FPX Long-Stroke line. Utilizing many of those same hardware components, and reverse compatible with many of our FPSpec accessories, our new FPX suspension line offers amazing performance, and ride quality, at a competitive price point.

Hardware includes a custom-designed steel monotube shock body which allows us to reduce cost compared to an aluminum body found in our FPSpec line of shocks. We spec'd an industry-leading Nickel-chromium plating that is extremely durable in harsh environments. Matching gray 6061 Aircraft Grade Aluminum (mil-spec anodized in hard gray), and signature FPX Red springs (Swift Springs optional) compliment the entire shock package. High quality seals, shims, and pistons used throughout, as well as Amsoil shock oil, in conjunction with our proprietary custom valving.

We have built our FPX kits to utilize our "Long Stroke" damper length designs as standard, giving our FPX line of shocks an amazing advantage at a fantastic value.

S2000 FPX Long-Stroke Spring Rates / Valving Options:
  • FPX Long-Stroke "Performance" Spec : 12kg / 10kg - A well balanced mixed-use coilover setup, street oriented (at softer damping settings) yet track capable (when adjusted to firmer damping settings). A good balance between street and track use, with damping adjustment range for both scenarios. Developed at the track, refined on the street!
  • For additional custom rates and valving: please email us

Product Features Include:
  • FPX Custom Valved Long-Stroke Dampers
  • 6061 Aluminum Hard Anodized Upper and Lower Mounts - Same as used in our FP Spec kits!
  • 6061 Aluminum Hard Anodized Spring Perches, Lock Rings, and Adapters
  • “GT” “Performance” or "Track" Valving Curves Available - Hand valved and dynoed in Fremont, CA

I just posted my review. Great product and would buy again.

Final rating of FPX Long-Stroke coil-over by SakeBombGarage: A-
As expected, the fit and finish are meh, an item was missing from my order, and customer services was a bit delayed at times. Install really needs done by a competent mechanic, as one of my shock nuts was loose, the springs needed some touch up paint, and everything had to be measured and tightened three times. I'm back at completely stock alignment with similar spring rates 9k+7k. At zero clicks, its a Buick boat that somehow never hits the bump-stops. At 3 clicks front and rear, its the softest but most controllable car I own! A dream on the highway, I love to travel in it now. At 11 clicks, it feels like a taught AP1 should be on the Dragon, and has much improved rear traction and manners. At 20 clicks, its a bucking bronco! I 100% recommend them to everyone who has access to a good installer, and can't afford Ohlins.

nice I’ve been having a hard time deciding on going ahead and just getting the ohlins or just getting something cheaper like the sbg fpx coilovers. For the price of the fpx you can also go annex fastroad and fa 500. Makes deciding which coilovers to get so hard

The long travel feature was something I wanted. I wish there were travel specs posted somewhere to compare.

Exactly the same as our Ohlins Long Stroke! It is the *correct* amount of stroke for the S2000.

Thank you for the honest review. As this product is in it's infancy for us compared to the Ohlins Long Stroke, there were a few kinks to work out as far as packaging since they're a heavier steel body, and don't travel as well as the lighter Ohlins. We've since introduced a foam sealing machine that isolates the shocks from each other perfectly, you can now drop them out of an airplane and they'll be fine.

We're glad to hear you are enjoying the wide range of adjustment, this was one of the big things we strived for with these coilovers! Around 2 years of engineering and development have gone into these coilovers and we are thrilled that you love them as much as we do! While we feel our Ohlins Long Stroke kits are a step up from the FPX, bang for buck - in the sub $2K price range - we believe these will be the reference set that other shocks are compared against. Not to toot our own horns, but the team here did an amazing job on the FPX S2K and ND Miata Shocks, and we are beyond proud of what we've been able to introduce to the market, especially with a long stroke shock at this price point!
