^hair dryer is most inefficient way to do it. it doesnt get near hot enough. Heat gun works, but it is hard to get a full even heat across the whole lens. out of the numerous times i've opened headlights/taillights, oven method is the best way. Have never melted any headlights. heat gun has chance to melt headlights because of how hot it can get and most dont have temp readouts. oven you know EXACTLY how hot it will get, and as long as you keep it at correct temp, it will not melt plastic

Who knows, maybe it'll all boil down to me having to use the oven regardless. However, seeing someone do it with a heat gun and posting the whole thing on youtube, I think the results are pretty comparable.
