Beater= more expensive insurance over all
Oddly, for me it's actually much cheaper to insure two cars. With one of them being suspended (having only fire and theft coverage on the S) than to have just one car insured. Significantly cheaper. My insurer explained it to me because fire and theft protection only costs like 120 for the year but I still get the multi vehicle discount with having two cars insured which ends up much greater than the fire and theft on the S. Wish I had known this legitimate trick for saving on car insurance sooner lol.

yes, cheaper in that case. It goes down for me as well in the winter, however some people will keep both cars on in the summer and thats where its gets more expensive.

Ontario doesn't have winter....
We just had a huge snow fall. You guys probably get a lot more though in Quebec.

People spinning out everywhere last night where I live. Steep inclines and declines. Since we are not a big city, roads were not clean at all.

A rental van almost T-boned they guy infront of me. My beater was doing ok though, I have winter tires and just took it slow.

I was in Brockville for NYE for 3 days and there was absolutely no snow, I was blown away. Temperature was above zero the whole time, felt like I was in Florida

On a serious note, you guys get less snowfall and warmer temperatures, but when you do get snow, on the whole people are less ready to deal with it so it effects the city much more deeply than a similar snowfall would in Montreal.

Ex.: By law, we have to have snow tires on between Dec. 15 and March 15th... I guarantee there's a good percentage of people who drive on summers all through an Ontario winter

That's more than good enough reason for me.

if i were to have an accident in the snow, i would much rather be in the C350 than a s2000 for safety, even if the parts are cheaper in a honda.
