Default WTB: Winter Tires on AP1 wheels

Does anyone have s2000 fitment winter tires/wheel combo for sale? I am mostly interested in AP1 wheels with good condition winter tires.

Thanks.

it's a bit old, no, really really old: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/165...in-the-winter/

there's nothing physically that would prevent one from doing so unless yours is dropped to the ground.

my S is the the only car i have so i'm planning on driving mine in the winter since toronto winter's are generally mild and i have underground parking. winter tires are a must...obviously. it also helps if you have an ap2 with the LSD.

question is, whether rust-proofing beyond what factories do to anodized aluminium is necessary or merely placebo.

The AP1 has the same LSD from the factory as the AP2. As for rust proofing the only aluminum parts you have to look out for are the wheels and hood really, I would recommend getting the underbody spray, it's a night and day difference if you plan on driving in the winter. Just make sure you tell them not to do any additional drilling into the frame

I recall Reapur having a set of OEM AP1 wheels with winter tires on the for sale forum here.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing something like this and avoiding the drilling since it seems to be a problematic cause for rust.

Most peps don't drive their s2000 in the winter
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/340...ge__mode__show

I don't think anything is wrong with driving the s2000 in the winter, just statistically most don't. To each their own, there's nothing wrong with being an outlier. Just drive safe and be careful of people around you.

The link you provided, the guy mentioned that he would drive his s2000 upto 8 inches of snow..... More power to that guy... Hahaha

Back in the day I drove a miata with snow tires up the Sierra mountains in lake Tahoe, with the top down... But that was when I was younger, poorer and there was a hot chick in the car. Would I do it again, maybe if I was back in California and the chick was hot enuf.... Hahaha.

Rust proof for sure annual if you are planning on snowing the s2000.

Have a nice winter season. :-)
