Default Would you buy an extended warranty plan?

I am looking at a new mac but am not sure if buying the extended warranty plan is useful? It's an extra $400 for an extra 2 yrs? I bought it for my dell but never used it?

Just wondering what others think.

You can buy the AppleCare program at any time before your warranty expires (1 year).

yes.. buy it.. because mac parts aren't as easy to get as PC parts... all fixes will be at least 3 digits + labour... you might as well

are mac warranties transferrable when you trade the unit in?

and in the series of mac products you've owned before, has any of them actually required repair?

they are transferable...

and thank god none of mine needs repair so far...

however, i have had friends whose iMac died... and found out it was the logic board .. repair bill was 800 bucks parts + labour... the amount was at a place where it's alot more to buy a new imac, yet not small enough to ignore... he wish he had purchased extended warranty

I'd get it. There is lots that could go wrong and yeah Mac parts aren't cheap. Think of it as good insurance.

^ or just get an entirely new PC - costs less than the mac warranty.
