If your S2K is your only car then getting good snow tires, a hardtop and driving it all winter is your option. I'm sure the S2K is a capable winter car if driven properly.
I have a company 4x4 truck so I chose to drive that all winter instead and save the S for spring, summer and fall.
My preference would be an STI if it was to be my only car as I think the AWD and traction control, extra space may come in handy (yes, I'd get winter tires as well).
YOU S2K winter drivers are all INSANE, CRAZY, and off your friggin rockers for driving a low, rwd, small sports car in the middle of winter!!!
But I'm sure you're enjoying driving it more than a minivan. And in the eloquent words of Rodney King (LA riots), "can't we all just get along."
