even now, one of our cars sits for 3-4 days every week without a start-up.
Point is - you start it when you need it....there is no point in turning it on just to run for a few minutes then turn it off again.....

OK Finally Car COVer....can I just get a UNIVERSAL one from Canadian Tire? Any advice on price range....and do I need a TARP under the car for humidity?
Depending what the ground is like where you live concrete can become very wet or just plain stay dry. For me I suggest you park your car on a vinyl tarp or vinyl floor covering. The vinyl will eliminate a lot of moisture from below the car. The problem is if you do have some damp conditions you can have an overwhelming amount of condensation form on the underside of the car, and clearly that is not good. Tarps are cheap, rust is not.

And for the record, consider the fact that Nimesh never keeps a car long enough to worry about proper storage...

Time will take it's toll. But you don't hold on to any of those cars for longer than 4-5 years anyhow so like it matters

Many people will tell ya the hardest wear an engine endures is cold dry startup. If the intent is to store the car and keep it in good condition I do not understand why anyone would want to add a lot of extra dry AND REALLY cold starts to an engine.

In addition for those who do start it up chances are very good they do not let it run long enough for the entire exhaust system to get hot. Therefore after the car is shut off and the car cools down the inside of the system will collect condensation. And as I said before, rust is expensive.

Man if yes the car would end up to be a FULLY WRAPPED gift that I won't open till spring! ahhahah
I've got a very good Covercraft cover fitted for the S2K that I'm not using anymore. Water resistant, breathable, won't scratch the paint. It was around $300 new, but if you want it, I'll let it go for $100 as there is a tear (patched) along the driverside window. It doesn't effect anything as it's over the window.

Here's more info:

I've got the tan one.

true, but the point was that cold dry start-up is "considered" detrimental...

Do a 10 year experment.

Buy 2 identical vehicles. Start one 2x a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The other start it once a month. At the end of 10 years do a compression and leak down test.

Call me with the results
