I kind of like the look of tuxmat as a winter mat but I don't drive it in the winter.

The carpet underneath was starting to show its age. So this was a nice temporary fix. I would like to find replacement carpets but looks like they are not available. I am going to try a deep steam clean and see if that helps.

The Tuxmat looks padded, which is great - one of my big gripes with driving a manual car using something like Weathertech mats, is that those hard plastics are tougher on your heels (will ruin some shoes, and possibly cause fatigue) and worse, when it's wet, your feet just slip and slide (harder to keep full control/feel).
I tried to look at a local Toronto company called Findway as they used to offer a waterproof carpeted mat, but no luck for low volume or older models (like my Fit manual, or my wife's Mazda3, or the S2000).

I have Weather Tech in all my other cars. It works well to protect the carpet. I just leave them there year round because not all people think about where they step before getting in the car. You are right the Weather tech become ridged over time and become less form fitting. "The boss" wears it out where the heel of her shoe typically lands. I had never heard of Tuxmat before getting the S2000. I only discovered it after doing the research because Weather tech was not available for the S2000. "The boss's" car is used year round. Not sure how well the Tuxmat would hold up through winter. The S2000 is in the garage. Very rarely would it get below 0 in the garage so will see how they fair after this winter - if the cold exposure makes them more rigid. I don't drive the S2000 in the winter naturally. In my Mustang Mach 1 which only arrived in Dec. (Thanks COVID) I transferred the Weather techs from 2017 Mustang (which i sold) in to it. But I like the look and feel of the Tuxmat better. Perhaps after the Weather tech wear more in the Mustang I will replace them with Tuxmat. Naturally the Mustang is not a winter car either. Looking hard you can still find the 20th anniversary carpet matts. But they are expensive. Really enjoying the project aspect of the S2000 - freshening it up. But need to stop myself from going overboard.
