well to be honest...saying "PPG WINDSHIELD glass" is actually not the same as it once used to be. ppg is a large company that makes all sorts of things, one of which was automotive glass...but they sold off that portion of the company a couple of years (?) ago. see: http://www.azom.com/news.asp?newsID=9983
they still make other types though.
http://corporateportal.ppg.com/na/PGW/default.htm is the actual co. for the auto glass production - they still use the name 'ppg glass' though, but are still a major oem supplier. not sure what the s2000 used for oem windshield though...i would hope the oem stuff is decent, but to be honest...the ppg stuff is most likely better. my windshield has TONS of hwy km's on it and is majorly dust-pitted.
even the new 08+ accords seem to have 'soft glass'. hopefully honda oem glass is better than honda oem Paint all in all, it's no biiiig difference/deal when it coems down to it...i would think good aftermarket glass may just hold up a bit better vs. the elements over time....which some s2's see more than others.

Just got my windshield replaced today at Flash auto glass as suggested by tk416.
Total was $200 cash no tax. They let me drive my car into their bay as I would rather do it myself with my 6 puck clutch and slammed car
Overall they were very friendly and I dont really know how to tell but the window is clear as hell haha. I still have to leave the tape on for a couple more days so ill let you know how it all looks and sounds then.
Heres there contact if anyone is interested"

I better check these guys out soon, I've got ppg glass right now and there's thousands of little dots in the windshield as well as a long 12inch crack now...makes me feel like the car is falling apart everytime I look at the crack

I need to get a windshield replaced also. About a 10" crack has formed on the driver-side now.
I've done some calling around and got prices from many different shops and independent glass guys.
PPG (OEM?) = $230 installed
Pilkington = $190 installed
FY (China) = $190 installed
If they can't manage to salvage the molding it will run me an additional $40. The above prices are from a listing I found in the classifieds and this guy sounded very informative and helpful on the phone. This guy will also
come to my house and do it on the driveway. Should I inquire if he has done an s2000 before or anything else? There were many that I called that had no idea who the glass was made by and quoted me some bogus prices as well.
I'm thinking about going with the Pilkington as I have read good things about their glass...
The guys at Flash installed for $200... was this with or without molding? And, what kind of glass was it that they installed?
