I guess..whatever suits your needs. Im not trying to be a prick or anything, im just curious.
Its just that Honda reccomends 10W30 all year around, wether its on the track or on the street. After all, who knows better than the engineers who designed our cars right?? :hinthint:
Good Luck

Maybe you miss-understood what I said.
When I said other than the weight and type of oil, I said this so I wouldn't be comparing apples to oranges.
You made it sound like I said there is no difference between cooking oil and full synthetic oil,
when my point was as long as the oils are in the same category
like full synthetic 10w30 with another brand of full synthetic 10w30 as being pretty much the same thing.
"I've rebuilt lots of motors and sure the motors that use synthetic show less signs of age, other than that if there was two identical motors that used different oils and same driving style I wouldn't be able to differentiate the two."
what am i trying to say here? I should have worded this better.
when i typed different oils I meant different brands not weight or type (synthetic or regular cooking oil)
And lets get something straight.
when the RD department recommends a certain type of oil there are so many variables that are considered, however in the long run the engineers chose the product that is best fit for the application without harming their product.
I'm sure the Engineers and marketing department aimed to sell preludes to people just like you. then you'd have gripper tires sitting on your rims, but thats just not the case.
Pretty much all of us on this board don't fit into that "mold" if we had to buy cars that were perfectly catered to all our needs it would be a Ferrari Enzo or Mclaren F1, How many Ferrari owners complain about the tires not being grippy enough or "the engineers chose the wrong oil for the motor in my BMW powered Mclaren F1"
you cannot compare apples to oranges.

I currently use Mobil 1 Super Syn 5W30 (weight recommended by acura)
When I switch over to amsoil which formula and weight would you recommend?
