I usually fill up around 2 or 3 bars because I find the lower end of the gauge to be non linear. For example, last time at Shannonville, I had 1 bar left when we left the track and was down to 0 before we hit the gas station a few kms away (I was actally coasting because I was getting nervous )
Anyway to answer your question, I think the most I ever put in was around $30 (Sunoco Gold).

the last few bars go down WAYYYY faster than the first few. Actually, I think the gas gauge is calibrated like a slope.
I think the most ever I got on one tank was 350 km. but it's usually closer to 300 km's.

All city driving, I get 340 km on 37 liters of gas. This is roughly 26 miles per Can. gallon. (This is with 4.44 rear gears) Before the gears, I was maybe at 27 mpg.
On the highway (before the gears), I was getting 39.9 mpg.

How big is the tank in the S? A much more accurate way to measure fuel economy is divide the L put in by Km travelled. Personally I use 10L/100km. So if I reset the trip odometer, I drive for 500km and at refuel time, I put in 50L.

Quick_Lude,
My car before the GTi was a 98 Prelude S! I loved that car, but decided to go Euro. THe Prelude had one of the best shifters I have felt.. the S2K one is even sweeter though.
10L/100km is not bad at all... I can deal with that on a sports car. =)
