What kind of gas mileage should I expect out of an S2K? What do you guys get?
Hey all,
Those published numbers don't really mean much to me. 20-26mpg, what is that? We don't work with gallons or miles here. If my GTi gets 22-29, then I'm expecting the S2K to be a little more gas hungry. Of course that's expected, cuz my GTi doesn't have 240hp nor is it considered a true sports car.
Let's speak our language. My GTi can go about 550-600kms on about 50L of gas (around $40 using premium) on non-agressive driving. What should I expect out of the S2000 when I get it?
Thanks all...

I am in the same boat as BioBanker, barely over 300km/tank. Thing to keep in mind is that this little beast is more like a 4L engine....take a 2L and spin it twice as fast as a "regular" engine and you see that gas mileage may not be great. It also depends on how much time you spend in the higher rpm ranges (obviously).

best: >550km/tank (2 bars left) (all highway driving, in the 3000-3500rpm range, 92 octane, warm weather)
worst: <200km/tank (2 bars left) (the exact opposite of the above, 94 octane, cool weather)
Currently, with straight exhaust + cat, no post-cat O2 sensor, I average approx 300km/tank with mild driving and the odd romp into VTEC territory.
Mind you, my drive to work is max 20 minutes of stop and go < 80km/h max. (23km trip on the odometer); I'm usually almost 1/2 way by the time the car is fully warmed up.
