Default What do you call that piece?

Hi all...

Can anyone tell me what the part name is for the piece that covers the leather boot around the SHIFT STICK?

Once again, the top of the SHIFT STICK is the KNOB, then the leather WRAP, then around it is a PIECE of Plastic that covers the leather and of course fits onto the center console.

Mine is getting scuffed by my watch....wanna replace it...any leads you S2K Yoda's!?!?!

Cheers and thanks again!

Calvin

You won't be able to just replace that part. You'll have to buy a whole new center console.

It's not an easy piece to get to.

Have a look at the intructions for replacing the shift boot on ricks2k.com.

No one will be selling just that part.

You might be able to pick up an '03> console cover for cheap in the "For Sale" forum.

Wait, is it getting "scuffed" or is the paint flaking?

Those are 2 different problems.

If it's flaking like on most '00 and '01, just use some rubbing alcohol to completely remove the paint. You'll be left with a nice black chrome look. That's what most people do.

You need to be specific

Ummm you know that cover that IMMEDIATELY covers the Leather(VINYL) cover attaching it to the console?
Sorry for the confusion UH DUH ME...

THe Piece has some kind of THIN glaze paint that makes it look bronze..... that SH*T is comming off.....it's just like a GLAZED DONUT ahhaha the sugar is comming off slowly....don't like it....makes it look DIRTY! If it wasn't painted in the first place and left MATT BLACK PLASTIC finish I would not have any problems.....

REALLY? Rubbin Alcohol will remove that THIN PAINT OR GLOSS STUFF?

I AM HEADDING TO SHOPPERS! .............sure I don't need anything stronger?
