Thanks! No mods yet... (clear bra, tint, keyhole caps and under-the-hood-bling don't count)

btw, I got room rate special for the Alcoa (if people are going to stay there again)
They have offered a room rate of $70. Either call them and tell them that you were quoted the rate of $70 or book the room online, and then PM the name you booked the room under and I can have them adjust your rate...

Please let me know so I can give them a headcount

LOL!! There is the picture of my 'closet on wheels'.

Still not looking good for me to be there this year, gang. Sorry. I would love to be there partaking in booze, good times, booze, , and booze....but it does not look likely.

US129 (Tail of the Dragon route) is closed due to a rock slide. Re-open date is unclear. This may screw up this event. Although there are many other roads in the area, the main feature is US129. For those of you planning the trip down, you may want to look into this situation.

It is true.. 129 is currently closed (although they are saying that it will reopen very soon)...

Having said that, 129 isn't the only road out there, and not necessarily the only reason to attend. Meeting fellow owners, making new friends, great backroads, etc... there are many reasons I would still attend.... I've been going for 6 or 7 years now and I usually run the Dragon only a handful of times..

There are plenty of fun roads in the area and after attending several events, I challenge you to find a better group of car enthusiasts. This event goes far beyond driving on a single road. That said, if you're set on doing run after run on the Dragon and it's still closed at the time of the event, you may want to reconsider. Actually if your sole purpose is to just run the Dragon, you should go when it's less busy. Lots of traffic on the Dragon = slow runs. But I honestly think the slide will be cleared up before then.
