Default USA S2000 pricing

If you check out the pricing for a new S2000 on the honda.com website an allow for a $0.82 Canadian dollar the equivalent price for this car in Canada should be about $40,200. Why the huge difference? Can I drive to New York, buy an S2000 and drive it home? Probably not but the price difference is infuriating.

The US dollar is bad, the cdn dollar is not good. I suspect the price might increase in the US if their dollar doesn't get better.

LOL - you guys aren't looking at the BIG picture.

if you drop the S2000 price down to 40K in canada - who's gonna buy an RSX-S at $34K? or TSX at $35K?? or maybe even a TL at 41K???

different types of cars to be sure, but a lot of people have the option of being versatile in thier vehicle purchases - they just aren't because A) they can't afford certain car segments, or if they can, B) they just don't know any better.

but, assuming that the cars you just mentioned are much closer in price to the S in the US than here, why is it ok for that margin to be smaller in the US market but not in Canada?

they are....but the margins have always been smaller BECAUSE of the strong US dollar.

23.5 for an RSX-S compared to 32.0 for an S2000.

the US marketplace accepts and can only bear that much of a difference.

what would you like to see? a 20K RSX or a 40K S2000? all else being equal.....

^^ I know what you meant by that, but you also have to remember, just because you are better off than someone that can't afford the car doesn't mean they are the WRONG type or person to own it.

I guess you didn't get what I meant. Just because I don't have 50k does that mean I shouldn't own the car?

I know you are trying to say FnF'ers shouldn't have the car, but doesn't seem to stop the rich kids in 'ssauga
