I might consider that, it's a good point. Do VAFCs come up for sale decently often? If I have a VAFC do I still need to go and source an 00-01 ECU?

No. An 02-03 ecu would be fine. Just need to add slightly more fuel with the VAFC. Usually when they pop up for sale their cheap, I'd find a ems over the winter though.

Your starter makes that chatter? I got the same thing on warm starts, but I believe its actually my TCT.

Couple of things, maybe some of you out there might have advice:

1) The starter I bought grinds on cold starts. anyone got any tips or tricks with something like this?

2) I have to somehow get my key reprogrammed for the AP2 ECU. Meanwhile I have it bolted in, but the AP1 ECU is hanging by the harness wires next to my clutch. Bangs around every time I shift lol. Is there any way around bringing it to the dealership, as they'll probably rape me for all I've got? lol

3) I have my perfectly good AP1 trans sitting at the shop, and the owner is prone to charging to "store" things, or throwing customers' parts in the garbage without letting them know, so if any of you know anyone who wants a spare for cheap, let me know.
1. Starter will have to be changed if you want to get rid of the grind

2. Stick to the AP1 ecu just dont bounce it off the limiter all day long. I ran this setup for a whole summer no issues and am still spinning my stock ap2 to 9k with 600whp. 00-01 ecu's run richer (better/more power) 02-03 run leaner (less power)

3. Cant help you here already have 2 spare ap1 trannys

pretty sure it was that 02-03 ecu gained power mid range and better mileage overall over the 00-01.

Okay adding another item to the list:

4) Getting a high-pitched whining / wheezing kinda noise that's rev-dependent. I'd guess it's the alternator starting to go?

Anyone in the community got a spare one they're looking to sell? And does anyone know if it's hard to put one in? I have a socket set out here but don't have my jack and jackstands =/
