You can read the codes yourself without a code reader. All you need is a paper clip. Check this out (courtesy of Modifry):

nimesh i just read this now...I got home at 11pm..if you want swing by defcon we'll see what it is...code puller is a computer made to check what the check engine light means....I am not old school..I love technology.

CEL was on last night when i went home, but car was behaving fine.
started the car this morning, and no CEL, no nothing - everything's normal - i never ended up pulling the fuse either.
this is why i hate cars....
