Does the top touch the rubber? Not concerned about rubbing?

Ok, what an INTERESTING experience.

I brought the car to the dealer in Gatineau. They were VERY friendly and helpfull, they measured the "height" of the top down and said.... we really shouldn't do this, but they were going to anyways.

Snag #1

They didn't have the 12mm crowfoot socket needed

The Snap-on guy was there! So he lent it to them

Snag #2

He can't get the damn tool on the nut to loosen And then wouldn't you know it, the freakin' socket falls INTO the car in the panels He can't get it out....

We proceed to tear apart the car.... 1 hour later FACK! Try to jack up the car CAN'T too low! My car doesn't even fit on a freakin' hydrolic lift! GRRRRRR I had to drive it up a block and then jack it up with a floor jack. Unbelievable!

Another guy comes along finds it in 2 seconds and gets the tool out PHEW!

He can't get it in there either, FACK!

So he says: Let's remove the rubber stop and then we can get a regular socket on there.

So he goes to remove it and says, hmmm it's already split in half and it comes off. Soooooo he finds out that won't help it's all metal the same underneith

Sooooooooooo, we lower the top..... interesting looks like it went down a bit.

So he takes the rubber off the other side.... tada! It's lower. I put my tonneau cover on and it didn't pop off! WOOHOO

So they said they would order me another rubber piece.

Can't do that, they have to get the entire assembly or something

Oh well, they said, if I am not happy to return they will make a tool to fit or something and fix it for me next time.

I'm happy They did the best they could, took 2 hours!

They were appoligizing like crazy, I was like don't worry you tried, hard to work in that spot seriously.

Anyway, it was a nice day so not a total loss.

There was a civic there with 325HP at the wheels Crazy they want $20,000 if anyone is interested.

I'll defintely go there again if I have any issues with my car they were awesome

Oh the salesguys never seen an S2000 or something, taking pics, checking out the car, was kind of funny.

James, that's kind of funky, the sales guys taking pictures. They're supposed to be selling the stuff.

So how much did you charge per picture

James...that's the Honda dealer across from the shell right? Sounds like a very interesting day at the dealership. You must have felt like a movie star!!! That's hilarious that the sales guys have never seen a S2000. You would figure every dealer would have or would sell one

$10 a picture

He was filming it and taking pics like a mad man hehehehe. He almost fainted when I showed him the CAI LOL.

I polished up my CAI it's much nicer without the stupid red tape on it.

Hapa, I don't think there was a shell, it was a boulevard de verendrye. THere's a Hyundai and Nissan beside it.

Actually not all dealers get allocated with s2k's. I think it depends on the volume of cars you sell.

If a customer wants to buy one and walks into a dealer that does not have an allocation for s2k's, I think they have to trade inventory w/ another dealership.

Then again, sales guys don't know jack, esp. the inventory they sell. So they probably wouldn't recognize one if you slap it in their face.
