I just got my buddy to price me out some S0-2's
all told 1090 bucks taxes and balancing in.. when you break that down over the clicks I put on, its crazy!!!
yet, I have this feeling I wont be happy with anything other then the OEM tires.
What do you think?

That's an awful lot of money. Thank gawd I drive like Mingster so my tires should last a very long time. He went over 20,000 miles on his set. I've got snows so the OEM tires only do about half duty. I'm hoping I won't need any till I get to around 65,000 km. Maybe by then, S02's will be cheaper? (I wish!) Otherwise, I'll go with something cheaper but still a brand name. I don't need the ultimate dry performance with a daily driver.

Mindcore...try Nantucket Tire (416)288-9399, I have been buying tires there for years and they seem to have good prices, althought I have never priced out the S02s.
Once the S02s on mine go, I was thinking of trying the Yokohama AVSs.

Mindcore, if you still have some time, I would but some tires/wheels that someone has taken off of their new car. You can find a new set of wheels/tires for $600 - $750. Tires are less than that. I bought an OEM set of tires with 1000 miles on them for less than $400.
Keep your eyes open, if you are interested in this approach.
Bob
PS...check the Tire Rack's prices. I thought that they had them for sale for around $156 each.

$156.00 US still works out to over $250.00 for us. Then there's the two taxes for him + shipping. And we all know that US to Canada brokerage is a killer.
(That re-tread thing is starting to look quite good now.

I just put on a set of S-03's.
I am quite happy now. They are more predictable than the S-02's, have almost unnoticable difference as far as dry traction goes, but the wet traction is much MUCH better.
Apparently they last about 25% longer too.
Peace.
