Hard to say from pics alone, seems like what the outer edge of my track tires look like.
What pressures you running?
When you say stock alignment what do you mean? You have had the car aligned to the stock settings OR the alignment is stock from when you bought it?

32-33 psi all around. Checking it at least once a week. You really think that the edge of the tire "indenting" like that is normal? I don't think so.. never seen that before on tires/cars that did not have an alignment problem.

By "stock" alignment I meant that this is how the car came from the factory but I did NOT have it aligned since I got the car. So I don't actually know if the alignment is to proper spec.
Here is the full size pic, the only time I've such "indentation" on a tire, it was from improper alignment.

That is in indent!
The first pics looked like just some mild scuffing at the edge, not a stair step.
S2000s seem to frequently show up with shit alignments. It is standard practice for people here who read a lot to have the dealer include an alignment and the print out of the settings from the alignment machine as part of their dealer prep for new car delivery. Those who were not able to get this added have spent the money out of their own pocket and had it done.
If that were my car I would be at the dealer making them do an alignment, at their cost. This would be the first thing they would want to do to try and figure out what the heck is wrong.
Make darn sure there is documentation, if they can not fix the problem I would insist on new tires, in fact that might be something you insist on after the alignment is done just so they can see you will not go away easy. You want the problem found, fixed and have good tires on your new car.

The more I look at it the more it reminds me of tire rub on the inner fender...
Could low tire pressure be the culprit? Is 32-33 psi too low?

I have never seen low pressure cause that, nor is 32-33 low, that is the suggested pressure, or it was for MY '00 to '03.
