I like the M-coupe too, the only one I have driven is the 240hp, it was quick. But in my opinion, main different between the S and the M is V-tech need to keep in high rpm whereas the M has tons of torge in the low to middle range. One more point you should think of is the M-coupe only got 5-speed (even in 315hp version) and the M-3 got 6-speed. And of course, one is made in Japan and the other is German.

I totally agree, that's the meaning of v-tech, stay with NA.
Again, $6K you can do lot of things but have you ever got no problem when doing such a big mod., after year and year of try to modify the car, I personally come up with one simple answer which is : if factory has it, original is the best. Maybe I should say after putting bigger wheel + tires and lower suspension.

Forgot to mention that do you know why the factory did not put the 6-speed in the M-coupe? The answer is no room, and I don't think you can have a guy solve this problem better than the tech. in BMW factory...........agree?

Then..... I guess you win, let me know if you success.
But still one more question : if the factory has all the necessary parts, why don't they put it on? Remember that both M-5 and 3 transmissions are from same factory, we are not talking about putting a M.B. part into a BMW, right?
