Things to be awared of when buying from the states

Fob, be prepared to pay for the followings as Jeff told me Volks in the US uses UPS to ship to Canada.
6.1% tax on your rims since they are made in Japan.
7% GST
8% PST
Conversion rate defined by the Canadian custom, usually not a crazy rate.
Brokeage fee: Aporox. U$75 on the value of all the rims, approx. C$100.
These are all the known charges to me. Not sure if the WONDERFUL custom would charge those fees/tax by using the "tax on tax" method. But good luck!

If I remember correctly, the shipping quote from Jeff is from Volks (US) to your Canadian door, meaning door-to-door shipping. Just be prepared on the 6.1%, GST, PST, conversion rate and brokeage fee.

with charges like that... you might be better off buying some steelies and bald tires and drive down then do a switch.. toss out the steelies or give them to jeff or something

Thanks everyone, I'll talk to Albert/William at Speedstar these few days...
After the calculations...I think I'll pass it on...as the tax is really too much along the cost of the rims/tires....
Phil, I'll look into it....but I would like to purchase locally as many ppl mentioned...
