Summer Road Trip?
A guy I work with, he made a trip to the Ottawa area this past weekend. He was telling me about all the curvy roads he was on. I looked up Ottawa on google maps, and there are some real good curvy roads in that area! I was thinking, some time in August maybe, I might want to plan a weekend trip up there. Just wondering if anyone would also be in for something like this? Be a weekend of driving and booze

If you want to explore a real nice region I'd highly recommend the Finger Lakes Region of NY State, around Watkins Glen. Lots of beautiful driving routes in that region, tons of wineries, at least one every 5 minutes. It's about 4.5 hours from GTA, pretty close to the same time as Ottawa ?. You can run on Watkins Glen International Raceway for $25 while you are there too, lots of fun. This trip was the highlight of my driving season, I can't think if anything that can top that drive anywhere in Ontario.
Ottawa is a nice region though, I guess for the younger guys doing the Hull visit might be an attraction, I can't think of any specific roads to drive though the region is pretty nice all around if you get near the Laurentians in the Quebec area.

My friend was just talking to me about the Finger Lakes. He knows a guy who drove on them, or was it him that drove them...either way he said they are real nice.
Myself and two friends are going down to Englishtown, New Jersey in August for Honda Day. The weekend of the 13th and 14th. Leaving the Thursday, coming back Monday. The trip should be about 8 hours. We aren't sure if we'll stop on the way since we're leaving Thursday night. We don't make set plans though. We like to wing it. Anyone who wants to join I'm sure is more then welcome. There are no downer douches coming with us this time (unlike when we went up Muskoka area two weeks ago), since he can't cross the border.
Hotel would be your own responsibility.

When I went back to visit my hometown, Montreal two years back my family and I took some back roads through the Kingston area and there are some amazing roads there. Unfortunately I was stuck driving the family minivan at the time so I couldn't get to experience it to its full extent. That might be an area to check out too. But, depending on the days and whether or not I'll have sufficient spending money when this time comes around, I'll be down!
