I know, I know, those are awesome wheels, and a really good price. I was *this* close to picking them up for the race kah, but for Solo 1 you have to take two prep points to have wheels extend past the fender lip. Yes, in another thread in that forum I picked up a beater Civic. Haha.
I don't know how stiff the Echo's stock springs are, but you might be okay with them extending out like that. There are a lot of people who do that, especially the Miata guys. The tires are pretty short too, but I don't know if they're much shorter than the stock ones.

did a search on RA1's and guys are getting 10K wear out of them (combined).
most mentioned that they do lose their track-effectiveness at about 5K, but that's the price you pay i guess....
