Sorry again about not slowing down in the rain. I forgot you were on R's. I kept looking in my rearview wondering why you were so far behind
I picked up a set of OEM 16's and am looking into Yokohama A032R's.
Would you mind PMing me how much you payed for you Dunlops?

Only thing with the Yokos is I have the hard compound which seem fine for the track but never get up to temp on the AutoX. I can't speak for the "S" comp.
I'm curious about the dunlop R-comps on tirerack. I cant remember if they have sizes in 16 but they did have 18's.

Didn't realise you had the Yokohama's Ron. Where did you get them? How was the wear?
I'm interested in them for their abilities in the rain. I don't want to worry about driving to and from the track.
One complaint I've heard is that they can get greasy when they're too hot. Don't know if this is only a problem with the S version or not. How did you find them?
I'm not concerned about their grip for autoxes, so I'd likely go with the harder ones.

I got them used from insight_ca. They're stock sized 205&225 and I've never had any problems with them.
The sidewalls are pretty stiff so the car darts a bit over streetcar tracks and is generally much twitchier with them on... you definatly don't want to lean the seat back and drive with one hand - gangsta style when they're on.
Every since Andrew's mishap at Shanny I really havent pushed them too hard but I've never really been in peril at on the track with them... a few recoverable slides but that's about it... i wouldn't call them "greasy"
The biggest change over stock or regular street tires is there is very little warning at the limit. But I think that's pretty typical of any R-comp - very little squeal. Oh, and i find that they "push" (understeer) I little more than my old kumho 712 rear/ S02 front combo (no suprise) and my 18" dunlop fm901's but I haven't really pushed the car on that set either.

Nothing beats RA1s in the rain. I think Yoks may have better ultimate grip in the dry. Fyi, They just recently upgraded the treadwear rating on RA1s to 100 from 40, previously thought. That's pretty damn good for a track tire!
Id love to try those new Michelins but alas the price is quite steep....

I'll be going with 205/55/16 & 245/45/16.
Thanks for the insight Ron
