Its easy to say that you hit some high speed on some remote stretch, but try doing that on a track, lap after lap, knowing that your brakes are heating up and youve got a 80 degree corner coming up on you with a wall just past it.

Im sure after the AM Ill settle back in, but turn 2, 4, and the 100 feet after the blind hill before 8, should never become routine.

Mosport's not hard on brakes though. Lots of time for your brakes to cool between hard braking zones. Do you double or single apex turn 8? Lots more runoff area if you single apex.

the back straight is still bumpy as fvck....the (my) car jiggles on the 5-6 upshift @ 200.

i stopped eeking out an extra 10-15 KMH from the 5-6 after a while...what's the point, anyway?

Shane, not sure what you mean, didnt know you could double apex 8. Ive tended to be tighter on 8 than most (probably single apex it), and Id almost straightline 9. I remember that as a wickedly fast line through there.

8 is a single apex....no matter hopw you slice it...i can't see it being anythign but...you can't straightline 9 (it's a corner, duh).

There is a different line for 8/9 than what you are talking about. If are tighter on 8, which you have to do by gradually decreasing the radius of your turn, you can start 9 way earlier.

I think that is what I remember.

i didn't understand what you meant by straightline...i got it....gives you a straight shot INTO 9...

Don't worry about it then. If you're single apexing 8, you have the run off available to you past your braking zone. Of course, I hope none of us ever have to use it.

You can double apex 8 if you start to head towards the inside curb as soon as you crest the hill, and carry your braking right up to the apex before turning in. Your 2nd apex will be the same as the normal single apex. It was taught to me as the defensive line, but some people are faster using it. I'm undecided on the speed but I like trying different lines to get more familiar with the track. With the double apex, you have almost zero gravel trap if you botch your braking into the first apex.
