speeding ticket questions
I was caught doing 57 on a 40 zone.
Damn bastard took my virginity ticket without giving me a second chance.
On the ticket it said to pay a fine of $50.
Does it take away any points?
It was in Scarb.

Man, that suks
But $50? That sounds like he reduced the ticket to 10km/h over. Since it was your first offence there should be no points taken away.
What i would do is challenge it in court. The cop wont show up over a $50 ticket. Pig no show, Pig no win...simple...
Good luck

Always, and I mean ALWAYS challenge it in court. From my many experiences you will always be better off. Either cop will not show and your free as a bird, or if cop does show, your appointed Paralegal (if they are nice) will plea you down in front of the judge and reduce your fine even further, maybe even drop it completely.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but last I remember, 15 km's or less no points, over 15 km's 3 points. You shouldn't have to worry because as mentioned, your km's seemed to be reduced. I haven't always been that lucky
57 in a 40....Not good. That's a residential area, too many kids are likely to run accross the street.

Also remember that if you get pleaded down but still convicted, it stays on your record. So if you have 3 tickets for "12 over" or something like that, if the insurance company chooses to be picky, they could raise your insurance.
This page hasn't been updated in a year but it makes some good points and suggestions on how to fight tickets.
