Default Soft top

At the moment I have a big hole in my soft top as someone tried to steal my s2 last week. Luckily that was the only damage and they were not able to take the car. I have a '00 model with the plastic back window but I would like to replace it with the soft top that has the glass window w/defroster.

Has anyone does this before? I've heard yes but it is a difficult task and also the wiring is complicated since the '00 were not equipped with the extra parts. I have to order the roof today or tomorrow from Honda so I would like to know if I should just stick with the original -plastic which I hate! or if I can go for the glass and pay more to get it done.

Btw I'm not happy with the service I'm getting from Formula. Usually I deal with Parkway and they really try to give customer satisfaction. I may take it there to get done but if there are other suggestions please let me know. I'm thinking sticking with Honda is best because of warranty.

Thx.
Jo

There's a couple options now.

Hardtopguy as Simon suggested, or take a look through the general forum. There's a thread posted by someone who just installed a soft top from an independent company (name escapes me).

The LAST route I'd take would be getting a local dealer to order/install a new top.

I am most likely going through the dealer as there will be warranty. I just want to know if the soft tops in the newer models will fit in the older models as I've heard it's not the same fit and maybe more work involved.

Yes, the newer glass window tops will fit on the old frames. There is some modifications needed though (adding elastic straps).
